An interactive installation playing with the loss of authorship and control in a digital society; created for the Power & Surveillance exhibition in Chicago.
Nosy Parker is an installation done for the Power & Surveillance Exhibition in Chicago. It consists of four stools with each a camera inside it pointing upwards. As soon as a person sits down on one of the stools, the camera begins taking pictures that start to appear from underneath the stool that the user is sitting on. The pictures develop their own behaviour, separate from your stool and start to "make contact" with the pictures of another person within the interactive environment.
The loss of control over pictures taken of you and their uncontrolable distribution by the system.
