Taxi '07 project




Creating an eye-catching new rooflight for the
New York Auto Show in 2007. Improving the rooflights visibility and the taxis interaction with its passengers.

Project worked on while being employed at Antenna Design New York.

For the Taxi '07 project a few New York based architecture and design studios were asked to participate in the re-design of the Yellow Cab. Each of the invited agencies concentrated on re-designing one particular aspect of the taxi experience.

For the new rooflight for the New York taxis the aim was to improve the rooflight's visibility and the taxi's interaction with it's passengers.
An increased visibility of the taxi's availibility state as well as raised awareness for entering or exiting taxi passengers in traffic.


Vacant / Exit / Pick-Up
Emphasizing and visualizing the states of the taxi that differentiate it's behaviour from other cars in traffic.
